Willoughby Swim Club is proud to have The Honourable Gladys Berejiklian MP as our Patron and congratulates her on assuming the office of NSW Premier on 23 January 2017.
Ms Berejiklian, who lives in North Willoughby and has had a life-long association with the local area, was first elected to the NSW Parliament as Member for Willoughby on 22 March 2003. A former banker, Ms Berejiklian was the NSW Treasurer from April 2015 until taking over this year as Leader of the Liberal Party and NSW Premier. Prior to that she was the Minister for Transport for four years from April 2011. Our swimmers and their families had the privilege of first meeting Ms Berejiklian at our Club Presentation Day in October 2014, when she expressed her admiration for their hard work and dedication to their sport, and vowed to support them in their endeavours. She helped the Club celebrate our 25th anniversary celebrations and presented awards to our swimmers at Presentation Day in October 2015. We are honoured that Ms Berejiklian gives her patronage to our club, supporting swimming in the local area.
